Yay! You've decided to use video to promote your business and yourself! Here are some tips to help you be more successful. Let's start with the first tip - Your video should be about the viewer! (If you only take away one piece, this is it!)

Video Script 1

  1. The Hook - keep it short and interesting
  2. Introduction - this should be 2-5 seconds and have a value proposition for your viewers
  3. Tease or Testimonial - this is the part where you entice them to keep watching
  4. The Meat
    • give this to your viewers within 45-seconds
    • talk with energy and tell a story with a beginning, a middle and an end or begin and end "I built a house and the wind blew it down."
    • jump cuts - keep recording you can edit after you're done
  5. Call to Action
    • clickable link with a downloadable PDF
    • use something like LeadPages.net for links
    • ask your viewers to subscribe
    • content, quick call to action
    • quick end
    • last 20-seconds tell them about more content and how to subscribe

Video Hack - Do your video hack 10-minutes a day and use your phone. These are "just life" videos to help show people who you are.

  1. Share your daily hacks on your favorite socials. (Share on sites that are most likely to have your target market.)
  2. Start your social shares with Instagram Stories. What are Instagram Stories? Instagram Stories are where people and businesses share short format, vertical images and videos that disappear after 24 hours. They're designed to be fast, memorable and fun so don't fret about being perfect.
    • These stories should have a real, raw and unfinished feel
    • Shoot for 80 personal and 20 professional videos
  3. Facebook Live is another good platform for sharing your video hacks.
    • Post once a week and shoot for videos of about 2-3 minutes
    • Post at the same time every week so people get acclimated to when your videos will play
    • I like posting at 10:10 because it looks like a smile
    • Live streams are gold

Predict what gets watched

  1. Do keyword research
    • YouTube search bar
    • TubeBuddy.com (this is a pay option)
    • Tag Explorer (Do an internet search) this tells you what tags are being used on a page
    • Keyword Score
    • Do an incognito search to see what YouTube offers (Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows)
  2. Top 5 Search Engines
    1. Google
    2. YouTube
    3. Amazon
    4. Facebook
    5. Microsoft Bing

I hope something here helped you get started on your video journey. If you have questions or want to see a post about something, let me know.
