You've got what you need to make money. Take a moment and ask yourself these questions and see what happens.

  1. List what you loved as a child. This is not a time to judge; just brainstorm and create your list. Did you love math, bikes, horses, dogs, photos, art? Whatever you loved, write it down.
  2. List what you are good at. Be especially objective! What comes easily? What have people told you your talents are or were? Write those down.
  3. List anything you've been paid to do. Include the things you've done for work, family, and friends. Don't just list job titles; try to think of precisely what you were being paid for and create your list.
  4. List your personal resources. Think about things you have that you could use. Do you have a minivan, computer, camera, language skills, tools, acting skills, plenty of free time, extra cash lying about, and an additional room/apartment/house?
  5. List your ancillary skills. Are you skilled at organizing, leading, good with people, good with children, selling, learning, researching, teaching? Write those skills down too.
  6. Research and list local problems and concerns. What are homeowners/renters looking for? How about stores, students, parents, pet owners, your current customers. Once you've identified their problems/concerns, discover how you can make those problems/concerns better.

Once you have your lists completed, you may have a more precise direction of things you would enjoy doing.
